A piece of East London History here - A cast and enamelled name plate from the firm Young & Martin Ltd with the legend 'THE "BELLE"'.
Young & Martin were a company based on The Broadway in Stratford East London. They specialised in supplying Lead Glass, Paper Hangings, Gas Fittings, Castings, Chimney-Pieces, Grates and Kitchens. Alas, the amazing store has been demolished and no longer stands.
We're not too sure what this sign was off, but if must have been a serious piece of merch!
DIMENSIONS: (H) 8cm (W) 25cm
PERIOD: Late Victorian, Early Edwardian Period.
